John McGlothlin

John McGlothlin grew up in San Marcos, Texas and graduated from San Marcos High School. John earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a Masters of Business Administration from Texas State. John worked in management for a division of Berkshire-Hathaway and later his family’s flooring business after he moved back to San Marcos.

David Junkin

David Junkin is from Texas and has lived and practiced in the central Texas area for over thirty years.  He earned his law degree from the University of Houston and was licensed to practice law in 1991. Throughout the 1990s, David practiced law in a large litigation practice in Austin. In 2002, opened his own practice in Wimberley.  He focused on civil trial law and represented individuals, businesses, and property owner associations as both plaintiffs and defendants in bench and jury trials. David has earned the reputation of being one of the top local litigators in these practice areas and is widely respected by other lawyers and his clients, many of whom he has represented in multiple disputes. 

Charmaine Wilde

Charmaine Wilde moved to Texas in 2007. She earned her undergraduate degree from Southern Utah University. Charmaine worked at Texas State University Athletics before she attended law school at Baylor Law School in Waco, Texas. While studying at law school she took every available course in probate law and criminal law, earning a capstone certificate in both areas of the law. 

Following law school Charmaine served the people of Texas as an Assistant District Attorney in Hays County representing the State in Criminal, Juvenile, and CPS matters.  She then transitioned to private practice to broaden her practice areas to probate and guardianship matters, as she had studied and prepared for in law school. 

With a wealth of knowledge and experience in these areas, Charmaine has completed mediation trainings for Family law, Guardianship, and general mediation courses through Mediators and Arbitrators of America, the Texas Guardianship Association, and the Central Texas Dispute Resolution Center.

Ashley Chagnon

Ashley Chagnon received her undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University, then headed toward the mountains, attending the University of Denver College of Law (now University of Denver Sturm College of Law). She practiced law in Colorado for the first decade of her career.  Her family relocated to the San Marcos area to be near extended family. She gained admission to the Texas Bar and spent some time practicing law part-time while focusing on her children. 

She returned to full time practice in 2019 when she joined McGlothlin Junkin & Wilde as an associate.  Ashley’s practice is primarily focused on commercial and real estate transactions as well as business formations and disputes involving real estate issues.

Sarah Gonzalez

Sarah Gonzalez is a passionate civil trial lawyer who focuses the majority of her practice on family law. She earned her undergraduate degree from Pepperdine University. She also obtained a certificate in dispute resolution from Pepperdine School of Law’s Straus Institute, one of the nation’s leading conflict resolution programs. After obtaining her law degree from Baylor University, Sarah passed the bar in the Fall of 2021. While in law school, Sarah focused her work experience on civil litigation and family law.  She always made time to volunteer her services including participating in the immigration clinic, the estate planning clinic, and the veteran’s clinic. She interned at the Office of the Attorney General in the Child Support division and with McGlothlin Junkin & Wilde before staying on as an attorney.  

Sarah handles all types of family law cases including property disputes, custody disputes, child support issues, modifications, enforcements, and adoptions. She believes that everyone deserves a dedicated, quality attorney at a reasonable price. Her docket includes cases in Bexar, Hays, Comal, Caldwell, and Guadalupe counties. Sarah is an avid marathon runner who lives in San Antonio with her husband and their two cats.  


Alex Thompson

Alex Thompson was born and raised just outside of Austin in Dripping Springs, Texas. Alex graduated with honors from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2018. Before pursuing her law degree, she accrued years of experience as a litigation assistant in the family law field. Alex became the first lawyer in her family when she earned her law degree from Baylor Law School in 2021. She completed the Family Law Professional Track and was recognized as a Public Interest Fellow for completing over 250 pro bono hours.

Alex is passionate about being active and giving back in the Central Texas community. Alex currently serves as Course Director for the Dating Violence Mock Trial Program in collaboration with Dripping Springs ISD and the Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center, where she leads in teaching high school students about dating violence and how to identify the warning signs.

After graduating and passing the Texas bar exam, Alex returned to her hometown of Dripping Springs to focus on her practice of family law and help the community she loves. Alex enjoys running, traveling to new cities and countries when she can, and enjoying time with her family.

Jodie Bryson

Jodie Bryson grew up in San Marcos and is committed to serving her family, community, and church. Jodie left San Marcos to attend Texas A&M but returned shortly after graduating to bring her expertise back to her hometown. Jodie has been an essential member of the firm since 2013 and has more than 24 years of paralegal experience. She is a primary point of contact for clients and courts and is key in working on trial preparation, discoveries, and pleadings.


Kaitlyn Pennell

Kaitlyn Pennell grew up in Dripping Springs and enjoys spending time with her family and two young sons. Kaitlyn joined the firm in 2023 and has been working in the legal field for over ten years. Kaitlyn is the family law paralegal and the main point of contact for all family law clients.
